Hi All,
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sharing details of changes to daylight saving time (DST) and time zones (TZ) at various times across the globe. The external links and resources below are for your reference.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Regions Impacted
· Some countries with DST & TZ Changes Implemented Last Year (2007):
· Australia
· U.S.
· Canada
· Some countries with New DST & TZ Changes this year (2008) with H2 Impacts:
· Egypt
· Mauritius
· Pakistan

· Argentina
· All other companies who have organizations with operations, customers or vendors based in these locales may be affected. In addition, companies who interact or integrate with systems that are based in these locales or rely on date/time calculations may be impacted.
In general, computer systems should be updated to reflect the new DST rules. For most companies, this means applying software updates to select Microsoft products, including various releases of the Microsoft Windows servers and operating systems, Microsoft Office, and other applications. In a few important cases, companies must take more considered action.

Recent confirmed DST and TZ changes:
Below are some of the recent changes to daylight saving time rules and time zones that we have confirmed. As we receive new information and guidance on changes worldwide, we will provide updates to the DST & Time Zone Hot Topics, Latest News and Customer Guidance page at http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_hottopics
Pakistan:
Recently released cumulative update for Windows contained changes for Pakistan with a DST fallback date of Aug 31st. We have recently learned that this has changed to Oct 31st. We are in the process of creating new blogs for these updates as they occur.
Morocco:
We recently received news reports (via this link, in French) that the ministry for the Modernization of the public sector in Morocco issued a notice that the country has changed the end date to daylight saving time (DST, aka Summer Time, Heure d'été) in the country. At midnight (0:00h) between August 31 and September 1, 2008, the country will move the clocks back one hour. This is several weeks earlier than the original scheduled change between September 27 and September 28. For more information see the following blog: http://blogs.technet.com/dst2007/archive/2008/08/28/morocco-082708.aspx
Mauritius:
As noted at http://www.afrol.com/articles/29955 late last month (July 23, 2008) and in L'Express newspaper, the government of Mauritius has decided to adopt Summer Time (as it's known in Europe, aka daylight saving time) in the island nation of over 1 million. According to the announcements we've seen, the country will begin recognizing Summer Time in October of this year. For more information see the following blog: http://blogs.technet.com/dst2007/archive/2008/08/16/mauritius-dst-081608.aspx
Argentina:
There are rumors that Argentina will make a change in October, but we do not yet have government confirmation on this change.
