Recovery Storage group in Exchange 2007

The recovery storage group (RSG) is a special administrative storage group that enables you to mount a mailbox database, extract data from the mounted database, and then either copy the extracted data to a folder in an existing mailbox or merge the extracted data with an existing mailbox

Facts about recovery storage group in Exchange 2007 when compared to earlier versions

1. RSG can only be created using the Exchange Management Shell or by using Exchange Disaster Recovery Analyzer tool

2. RSG are not visible in Exchange Management Console even after they are created and populated with a database

Ø

3. Exchange 2007 RSG does not support mounting database from previous versions of Exchange Server

4. Recovery Storage group cannot be configured for replication using Cluster Continuous replication or Local Continuous replication
