    Hey Rajnish..
Very sensible question. I did go through all the MS articles but did not find anything saying this is an optimized value or ideal SCL setting. Just after discussing with few XCON engineers, came to know that an SCL value between 3 and 6 is considered by Exchange admins. Again, this is based on live setups and conversations.

Update us in case you find it more.

And again...Thanks for the reply to Dominic's query. I was on vacation.
    Guys, that's true..

IMF will not scan messages whose size is bigger than 3MB. This is by design as normally spam mails will not be so big.
Typically, spam e-mail messages are not larger than 3 MB because it costs more to send large messages.

Intelligent Message Filtering in Exchange Server 2003 does not scan messages that
    are larger than 3 MB.

      Hi Rajnish,

As far as i know after taking calls in Exchange Connectors we normally set the value to 7 and 6. 7 for Gateway blocking configuration and 6 for Store junk e-mail configuration.

There is nothing as optimized SCL rating

      Cheers!
